LEADER project
LEADER means \"Liaisons entre actions de developpement de l\'economie rurale\", i.e. \"Links among actions for the development of the rural economy\".
LEADER is a European project among actions for the development of weak rural areas.
LEADER\'s aims are to improve the quality of life of people living in such areas, both finding and developing projects for its social and economic growth. The program concerns limited terrotories with a common identity, supported by Local Administrations, private factories, associations and local people.
The four basic words concerning LEADER are: innovating, showing, transferring and integrated programs and projects.
Piemont Region destined for this aim the G.A.L., i.e. Groups of Local Action, as mediators between the territory and the UE.
G.A.L. are the instrument which LEADER uses to distribute funds on the territories, following a precise project of intervention. G.A.L. are seen as free societies, associations, unions, with both private and public participation.
